Com 300 dias de sol por ano, temperatura média de 28 graus e águas mornas, a capital do Rio Grande do Norte atrai mais de 1 milhão de turistas anualmente. O segredo do sucesso não é só o tempo, arretado de bom. Nem as belas praias. Tampouco o planejamento sistemático que trouxe outras cidades anônimas para o estrelato turístico caso de Cancún, por exemplo. O segredo de Natal é uma certa maluquice.
Pegue um carrinho simpático, coloque-o num cenário desértico, acrescente uns oásis no meio do caminho e está pronta a mistura perfeita: bugues, dunas e lagoas são, desde sempre, a cara da capital potiguar. Em 2008, esse tradicional passeio a Genipabu vai ficar mais acessível com a inauguração da Ponte de Todos, sobre o rio Potengi, rumo ao litoral norte. Na área urbana, a reciclagem de Natal já é evidente. O bairro de Ponta Negra, que ganha novos bares e restaurantes a cada ano, virou a base do recém-inaugurado Bom Brasil, que dá brilho à gastronomia local ao lado do estrelado ¿ e já consagrado ¿ Mangai. Alternativa aos resorts da Via Costeira, ele deixa os visitantes pertinho da melhor praia urbana e do centro do bochicho.
