Jangada, lagosta, caranguejo, forró e outros segredos da capital do Ceará.
Muitos visitantes fazem de Fortaleza apenas uma base conveniente para realizar passeios a praias próximas (algumas nem tão próximas assim) a leste e a oeste. Pois não sabem o que estão perdendo. Quem se dispuser a parar um pouco e curtir a Fortaleza dos fortalezenses vai encontrar uma cidade alegre, desencanada e sobretudo rueira. Como as praias centrais não são boas para banho, a dica é dar uma esticada à Praia do Futuro, a 10 quilômetros do centro.
Ninguém consegue enclausurar Fortaleza: a cidade usa e abusa do ar condicionado natural proporcionado pelo vento constante, e por isso vive ao ar livre ou em ambientes sem paredes. Programa é ir à Praia do Meireles, onde ficam a feirinha de artesanato e um calçadão que segue até a Praia de Mucuripe, repleta de jangadas e com o tradicional mercado de peixe. Dali vem a lagosta mais barata do Brasil que ganha receitas criativas, como as do restaurante Cantinho do Faustino.
Fortaleza é provavelmente a única cidade do mundo que freqüenta a praia à noite: toda quinta-feira, meia Fortaleza acorre às megabarracas da Praia do Futuro e vai até altas horas destrinchando caranguejos e jogando conversa fora. Também tem animados forrós de segunda a segunda, sem hora para terminar. Se não quiser escapar do ar-condicionado, vá até a Praia de Iracema, onde bares e danceterias elevam a temperatura.
O forró continua bombando às segundas-feiras no Pirata, o Beach Park ali vizinho vive lotado e as jangadas ainda regressam do mar com a lagosta mais barata do Brasil. Fortaleza é um dos destinos mais disputados do país - e também por atrativos que vão além do clichê forró-parque aquático-jangada- lagosta. A cidade não pára. As noites do Iate Clube ganharam shows de jazz no gramado e o Centro Cultural Dragão do Mar agora tem o melhor café expresso da cidade. Seguindo a expansão da capital cearense rumo ao bairro de Dunas, próximo à praia do Futuro, surgem novos empreendimentos voltados ao visitante, como o restaurante Trapiche. E as barracas da praia do Futuro passaram a ter até lan houses e espaços para massagem, diante de um mar cheio de velas coloridas de kitesurfe.
