A herdeira de Silvio Santos
Patricia Abravanel, chamada por Silvio Santos de a “filha número 4”, prepara-se para suceder ao pai em parte de seus negócios e, pela primeira vez, solta o verbo sobre as dores e delícias da vida de herdeira milionária
Na década de 80, Silvio Santos costumava anunciar novas atrações do SBT contando que o programa passara pelo controle de qualidade de alguma de suas seis herdeiras. Dizia, com o bom humor habitual, que a “filha número 1” era fã desse filme, que a “número 3” tinha adorado aquela novela, e daí por diante. Vinte anos depois, continuam a todo o vapor os pitacos de Patricia Abravanel, que, de “filha número 4”, tornou-se, aos 29 anos, a primeira na linha sucessória do empresário e apresentador. Com seus palpites (e um orçamento de 130 milhões de reais), a hoje conselheira do Grupo Silvio Santos ajudou a tirar do papel um sonho antigo do pai, o Sofitel Jequitimar, na Praia de Pernambuco, no Guarujá. O hotel, que funciona em sistema de soft opening desde o mês passado, passa a abrigar a partir deste sábado (13) uma série de shows de bandas como O Rappa e Jota Quest, parte do projeto Canto pro Mar – também sugestão dela. “Cada uma de nós comandará uma área do conglomerado”, ressalta Patricia. “Mas serei a pessoa que dá a cara para bater, a imagem pública da empresa.”
De fato, ela não é a primeira filha de Silvio a dar expediente num dos braços de seu império, que tem mais de trinta empresas e faturou no ano passado 3,3 bilhões de reais. Muito antes que Patricia começasse a estagiar no Banco Panamericano, divisão financeira do grupo, há dois anos, as mais velhas já pegavam no batente. Da primeira união do apresentador, com Cidinha Abravanel, morta em 1977, Cintia e Silvia também trabalham com o pai. Cintia toca o Centro Cultural Silvio Santos, enquanto Silvia é diretora no SBT. Daniela, a número 3, é a mais velha do casamento com Íris e coordena o reality show Ídolos. Rebeca, a número 5, cuida da teledramaturgia. Nenhuma delas, no entanto, foi publicamente declarada como a sucessora. Patricia, sim. “Quando completarmos o jubileu de ouro, ela estará aqui no meu lugar”, afirmou Silvio, na comemoração dos 25 anos do SBT, em agosto último.
O anúncio jogou os holofotes sobre a moça até então lembrada como “a filha do Silvio que foi seqüestrada”. O crime, em 2001, fez da paulistana Patricia um rosto conhecido de todo o Brasil. Levada da garagem de casa por marginais disfarçados de carteiros, só foi libertada sete dias mais tarde, após o pagamento de um resgate estimado em 500.000 reais, valor nunca confirmado pela família. Ao retornar, deu uma entrevista coletiva para a multidão de jornalistas que pisoteava o bem-cuidado jardim da mansão dos Abravanel, no Morumbi. Ao vivo diante das câmeras, mostrou ter herdado não só as feições do pai, mas também seu carisma. Simpática, articulada e falando pelos cotovelos, encarou a imprensa como quem viesse não do cativeiro, mas de uma tarde no shopping. Contou ter se compadecido dos seqüestradores e aproveitou a exposição para fazer algo que adora: pregar. Evangélica fervorosa, ela havia se convertido à igreja Vida Nova dois anos antes. “Meu pai ficou mal porque ele é o único da família que não tem Deus”, gritou, da sacada.
Falar de Patricia Abravanel sem mencionar religião seria como tentar dissociar Silvio Santos dos programas de auditório. Ela evoca o nome de Deus e recita trechos da Bíblia a cada meia dúzia de frases. Demonstra o mesmo entusiasmo com que o pai empurra carnês do Baú para as colegas de trabalho. Nos cultos, lança mão de outra habilidade: sua formação de bailarina clássica, iniciada aos 4 anos de idade. “Ela é de uma leveza encantadora”, diz a socialite Claudia Saad, freqüentadora da Vida Nova. “Quando dança, parece um anjo.”
Não fosse o sempre acalorado discurso religioso, Patricia nem pareceria uma evangélica de carteirinha, aliás pastora graduada no seminário da Vida Nova. Veste roupitchas descoladas que em nada lembram o estereótipo saião e cabelo batendo no joelho. Usa Louis Vuitton e Diesel, entre outras grifes famosas que compra em viagens internacionais. Faz as unhas toda semana e luzes a cada dois meses. Encara quarenta minutos de esteira todo dia para manter seus 50 quilos (10 a menos que na época do seqüestro). “Na minha igreja, só tem mulher maravilhosa”, afirma. “A religião permite, sim.”
No rol das coisas não-recomendadas, está o álcool. Em 2004, no casamento dela com o empresário Phillipe Carrasco, de 27 anos, filho da pastora da Vida Nova Ivonne Muniz, os convidados brindaram com refrigerante, suco e água. Os dois se conheceram na igreja. Phillipe coordenava uma das células, denominação dada aos grupos menores que se reúnem durante a semana para orar e estudar textos bíblicos. Seu jeito sério, com um quê de tímido, encantou Patricia, que foi à luta. Puxava papo com ele aqui, trocava olhares acolá, até que virou namoro, logo após o seqüestro dela. Os recém-casados foram morar num apartamento de apenas 90 metros quadrados perto da igreja, na Vila São Francisco, na Zona Oeste. Eles mesmos decoraram. Nada de muito atípico, não fosse Patricia herdeira de um dos homens mais ricos do país. “Meu pai decidiu que as filhas devem viver com o padrão de vida que os maridos puderem pagar”, garante Patricia, que diz apoiar a decisão. “Se não fosse assim, eles poderiam se sentir diminuídos.”
Considerado um bom pregador na igreja, Phillipe é de poucas palavras se há estranhos por perto – especialmente jornalistas. “Desde o início do namoro, só tivemos experiências ruins com a imprensa”, diz. Ser genro de Silvio Santos, segundo ele, nunca pesou mais do que a paixão pela mulher. Sobre a relação, cabe uma observação curiosa: a palavra final é sempre dele. “Sou submissa porque assim ensina a Bíblia”, justifica a senhora Carrasco. Madrinha de casamento, a socialite Patricia Rollo (ex-Mansur) resume o que os amigos de fé pensam do casal: “Eles são um referencial para os jovens e para os mais velhos”.
Nem sempre Patricia foi assim. Dos 17 aos 21 anos, a “filha número 4” encarnou o papel de pobre-menina-rica tantas vezes visto nos dramalhões mexicanos do SBT. Inquieta desde criança, era a que mais dava trabalho quando Silvio tirava o microfone da lapela e tornava a atender por Senor Abravanel – em família, todos só o chamam de Senor. E olha que a disciplina imposta por ele era rígida. Nas duas viagens que faziam ao exterior todo ano, por exemplo, dava dinheiro às meninas depois que arrumassem o quarto do hotel. Mesada? Só a partir dos 15 anos, idade em que passavam a receber 300 reais mensais. Detalhe: com esse dinheiro, tinham de se virar para comprar roupas, pagar cabeleireiro, manicure e afins. Ninguém ganhou carro quando fez 18 anos. “Sempre enfrentei meu pai”, afirma Patricia. “Se ela falou isso, pode publicar”, disse Silvio a Veja São Paulo. Avesso a entrevistas, ele não quis dar declarações nem autorizou as outras filhas ou a mulher, Íris, a falar. Mas cedeu para publicação a carta que escreveu para Patricia no aniversário dela, em outubro.
A menina voluntariosa desabrochou numa adolescente rebelde. No 3º ano do ensino médio, foi expulsa da escola em que estudava, a bilíngüe Graded School, no Morumbi. Concluiu o ano no Colégio Pentágono. Alternava, na época, as delícias de ser herdeira de quem é com as encucações geradas exatamente pela mesma condição. Ia às melhores festas, com rapazes interessantíssimos, e, terminado o agito, começava a dúvida: eles gostam de mim ou da conta bancária do papai? Acabou com depressão. “Sentia culpa por ser rica e bonita, mas infeliz”, lembra. Tentou dar a volta por cima indo cursar publicidade em Londres. Não se adaptou e voltou ainda pior, com transtornos alimentares. “Tive bulimia e anorexia”, revela. Preocupados, os pais a fizeram encarar sessões diárias de terapia. “Tomei Prozac durante quatro anos, até o dia da minha conversão.”
Aí, começou outra fase de altos e baixos. Silvio educou as filhas para, como ele, serem judias. No fim dos anos 90, Íris, católica convertida ao judaísmo, reconverteu-se ao cristianismo, dessa vez como evangélica. Nem bem teve tempo de assimilar a novidade, ele soube que as meninas seguiam o mesmo caminho. Um dia, confrontou a mulher: “Ou Jesus ou eu”. Ela escolheu a religião, e ele deixou a casa. Voltou dois meses depois, quando Patricia foi seqüestrada, o que faz a moça considerar o crime obra da providência divina. “Depois disso, meu pai nunca mais foi embora”, explica. Hoje, garante, prevalece na família um clima de respeito inter-religioso mútuo.
Na véspera do Ano-Novo, Patricia deu início à fase final de sua preparação para assumir definitivamente uma parte dos negócios do pai. Embarcou com o marido para uma temporada de dois anos de estudos nos Estados Unidos. Apesar da distância, acompanha cada lance dos seus empreendimentos – além do hotel e dos shows, ela ajudou a criar a marca de cosméticos Jequiti, lançada em outubro passado – por meio de telefonemas semanais e videoconferências. “Quero deixá-la sossegada para estudar, mas sei que ela não vai se desligar um minuto”, diz Rafael Palladino, presidente do Banco Panamericano. Mentor da moça em assuntos profissionais, o executivo conta que ela não sabia nada de negócios quando começou na empresa. “Patricia aprendeu com uma velocidade impressionante.”
É nesse ritmo acelerado que a agora estudante pretende superar seu maior obstáculo: a formação acadêmica nunca concluída. “Morro de vergonha de não ter terminado nenhuma faculdade”, admite ela, que vai cursar comunicação e administração. Até nisso lembra o pai, self-made man que começou camelô e se tornou quem é apenas com um diploma de técnico em contabilidade.
Trecho da carta que Silvio escreveu para Patricia em 4 de outubro, dia do seu 29° aniversário:
“Você já é uma ótima profissional. Sua personalidade sincera e sua maneira de dizer o que sente impressionam e cativam seus interlocutores. Que você encontre o seu caminho. Beijos, te amo. Papai”
Libertada após sete dias no cativeiro, ela defendeu publicamente os seqüestradores, dos quais disse que se compadeceu. Despertou, assim, suspeitas de que sofria da síndrome de Estocolmo – aquela em que a vítima acaba fascinada pelo algoz: “Nunca tive essa doença”
O grande dia: em 20 de março de 2004, ela disse o “sim” a Phillipe Carrasco, depois de três anos de um namoro iniciado em grupos de oração. Foi das poucas vezes em que Senor Abravanel (as filhas só o chamam assim, por seu nome verdadeiro) esteve na Igreja Vida Nova. Ele levou Patricia até o altar, onde ela rezou junto com o noivo e Daniela, uma de suas cinco irmãs
